SAF/CTIA/Tree Farm Meeting Reminder
Registration is still open for this year's USFS-CSFS Partners' Workshop and the SAF-CTIA-CTF Joint Annual Meeting, but time is running out! With over 100 forestry professionals registered so far, you don't want to miss out on the preeminent Colorado / Wyoming forestry event of the year! Topics covered at the Workshop and Joint Meeting include: forest management and recreation, stewardship contracting, the latest information on forest insects and diseases and available resources for forest managers. This meeting is a fantastic opportunity to network with public and private foresters and timber industry representatives!
SAF-CFE Credits will be available for both the Partners' Workshop and the Joint Annual Meeting. Certified Logger Credits will be available for the Joint Annual Meeting as well.

The co-founding team of Roald Gundersen AIA, an architect, and Amelia Baxter, in partnership with the Forest Products Laboratory of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Forest Service, have developed a process that allows them to cost-effectively grade, engineer and manufacture the small trees removed from routine forest thinning (called small diameter round-timber), and use the timber as patented trusses, beams and joists in building construction. In doing so they turn forest waste into a sustainable and high value building material.

Colorado State Forest Service Accepting Proposals to Protect Private Forestlands

The attached news release announces that the Colorado State Forest Service is now accepting Forest Legacy Program proposals from Colorado landowners. The program authorizes the USDA Forest Service or the CSFS to purchase permanent conservation easements on private forestlands to prevent those lands from being converted to non-forest uses.
